The best GDR museum we have ever visited.
Everything was put together with a lot of love and arranged according to subject areas.
Combined with the nice, relaxed nature of the owner, this is the perfect destination.
The crowning conclusion is the purchase of souvenirs in the consumer shop and the home-baked cake and soft ice cream in the adjacent café.
Spontaneous trip with a 4 hour drive to Dabel to the DDR Museum. We have visited a lot of museums, but this is the best we have ever seen so far. Everything is well sorted, clean and put together with a lot of heart and love. The owner with his friendly and relaxed manner is great. It was a very nice journey back in time to childhood and adolescence, so we jumped at the chance and bought a little something. And not to forget the homemade cake was very, very tasty.

One of the largest GDR museums I have ever gone through. An incredible collection of rarities and very old treasures from days gone by. People who grew up in the GDR should be able to go through their childhood again here.
We received a very warm welcome and immersed ourselves in a (long) gone world.
The collection has been put together with a lot of love and passion and is presented to guests in a wide variety.
The attached pizzeria and café invite you to linger afterwards.
